The newly renovated The Woodside House in Doune, formerly known as Woodside Hotel, has now reopened following a £1.4million renovation.
Located in the Perthshire borough, the project has been 12 months in the making and new owners, Stuart Riddle and his wife Jo, are
The couple own several hospitality venues including The Riverside on the river in the heart of Dunblane and The Allan Park pub, restaurant and coffee house with rooms in Stirling.
The three sites will have a combined turnover of in excess of £3,500,000 and employ circa 90 staff.
Open to residents and non-residents alike, The Woodside, which has 11 rooms, is set to be a new hub for the local community.
The hotel’s new facilities include a pub with a full range of premium beers, lagers, gins, wines, and cocktails, a function suite for events can hold up to 40 people and its own coffee house offering hand roasted coffee and home baking.
Additionally, there’s the new restaurant which provides homemade and locally sourced breakfasts, lunches, and dinners to patrons. Dining is also available outside in their newly created terrace area.
The focus in the restaurant is to create great quality, interesting dishes with both Scottish and classical French influences. Executive chef, Robert Cichock, leads the culinary team alongside head chef Craig Symon.
“Our ethos is simple. Simple things done well. Our food is not “fancy”, you will never see a “foam” on our menus. Anyone can make a burger, but if it is done well it can be a truly wonderful thing,” said Stuart Riddle.
“The Woodside really is our dream come true.”
Stuart and Jo took ownership of the hotel in November 2021 and have heavily developed it into a modern 140 cover venue.
