It’s a new year and, if you’ve overindulged during the festivities or just fancy getting a bit fitter, then Lorraine Kelly’s and Maxine Jones’ new fitness DVD Brand New You is just what you need.

“There are a few differences to our last DVD – this one brings over the atmosphere of a live exercise class even more strongly and we hope anyone joining in at home really will feel part of our gang!” says Lorraine.

Divided into four sections – bingo wings blaster, jelly belly blitz, legs & co and max out cardio – Maxine does a masterclass at the start of the DVD so nobody’s left standing.

“The music is fantastic and anyone can take part. In our classes we have people from 17 to 70, male and female,” says Lorraine.

Her top tip for successful exercising is to find an experience you really enjoy that makes you feel enthusiastic so you look forward to the next session.

This also helps with long-term weight loss: “You can go on a crash diet and then put all the weight on again or you can exercise regularly and eat sensibly for slow, steady results.

“I go to my exercise classes twice a week but I eat and drink what I like at the weekends,” says Lorraine. “Everyone eats a bit more at Christmas and that’s quite right – there’s no point making yourself miserable.”

We have five copies of  Brand New You to give away. To be in with a chance of winning a copy, send your name, address, postcode and phone number, with “Fitness DVD” in the subject field, to clindsay@thecourier.co.uk

The first names chosen after the closing date of January 9 will win a copy.
