1. Yu Spa at Apex City Quay Hotel

The Yu Spa can be found at the Apex Hotel on West Victoria Dock Road, not far from the V&A and Slessor Gardens.

The spa offers various body, face and wellbeing treatments, as well as day packages.

The Yu Signature Treatment costs £75 (Mon to Thurs) or £85 (Fri to Sun). It includes a relaxing aromatherapy back massage, an Elemis facial and a reviving scalp massage.

The Yu Hot Stone Massage uses an Elemis body oil matched to your skin’s needs, combined with hot volcanic stones.

It targets muscles to the deepest level, helping to relieve aches and pains, and easing muscle tension. It costs £80 (Mon to Thurs) or £90 (Fri to Sun).

Various day packages are available, but if you’re looking for an experience two of you can enjoy, the Time for Two package is the one to go for.

At £82 per person (Mon to Fri) or £99 per person (Fri to Sun), you’ll soak in the hot tub, pool, sauna, and steam room before a 55 minute Signature Treatment.

2. Kohler Waters Spa at The Old Course Hotel

There’s no doubt about it – this iconic hotel and spa on Old Station Road in St Andrews is the pinnacle of luxury.

There are 13 treatment rooms including two couple’s rooms, two wet treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool for therapeutic bathing and a steam room.

The spa offers the Golfer’s Recover Massage for the golf enthusiast in your life, to help ease tension, increase flexibility and make sure you’re at the top of your game.

It costs £170 (Sun to Thurs) or £180 (Fri to Sat) for an 80 minute massage.

The spa also has a variety of day packages. One of these is the Pamper & Prosecco package. This gets you a 50 minute custom massage or facial, a one course light lunch in the Spa Cafe, a glass of prosecco, a surprise gift from your therapist and use of the spa facilities and fitness centre all day. It costs £168 per person.

3. Fairmont Spa at The Fairmont

The Fairmont Spa is open to non-residents from Monday to Friday and is the perfect place to unwind.

There are 10 treatment rooms, a relaxation room, 16 metre swimming pool and poolside lounge, a jacuzzi, aromatherapy steam room and sauna.

The spa provides a ‘tailor-made sleep experience’, which promises to quieten the mind and relax the senses through guided breathing and therapeutic massage.

The Beside The Sea Sleep Ritual helps clear the mind and switch-off. It includes a foot ritual, breathing and visualization exercises, a full body massage with hot stones and a therapeutic scalp massage.

It costs £150 for 90 minutes and could be the perfect treatment for the overworker or overthinker in your life.

Day spa packages with the option to include afternoon tea are also available, as well as massages, facials, manicures and pedicures.

4. Spa at The Gleneagles Hotel

The Gleneagles Hotel spa near Auchterarder, promises luxury from the second you step in the door.

There are various day spa packages, which begin at £210, entitling you to a two course lunch and access to the spa and health club for the duration of your visit, as well as at least 80 minutes of treatment time.

Other options include the Renewal Radiance treatment, where the body is cleansed and exfoliated, before going on to skin hydration and lymphatic drainage.

Or try a personalised massage for £135 (50 minutes) or £185 (80 minutes), during which your therapist will curate a massage tailored to your individual needs.

5. Spa at Crieff Hydro

Crieff Hydro isn’t just a place for family fun or afternoon tea with a view – it’s also perfect for rest and relaxation.

Treatments include aromatherapy massages from £80, facials from £45, nail treatments from £28 and hair removal from just £8.

Spa packages include the Girls’ Day Out which includes your choice of manicure or pedicure, plus a two course lunch and a glass of bubbly to finish the day.

It is available Monday to Friday for £65 per person.

Or the Tranquillity Spa package includes a two-hour session in the Victorian Baths – complete with sauna and steam room – as well as a facial, foot massage and lunch.

It is also available Monday to Friday and costs £130 per person.
