Citroen has updated its popular C4 and Grand C4 Picasso people carriers.
The five-seat C4 Picasso and seven-seat Grand C4 Picasso have been given new technology, design tweaks, extra equipment and new engine/gearbox combinations.
On the styling front, there’s a new C-shaped chrome fog light surround, a more prominent chevron badge and larger air-intakes for better cooling. Towards the back, there are also new 3D-effect LED taillights and an updated Citroen badge.
Buyers can specify a contrasting black roof and silver roofbars on seven-seat models.
New interior options for the Picasso range include blue cloth upholstery, an headrest with extra support and even a perfume dispenser – ideal for doing away with that wet dog smell.

There is Nappa leather upholstery in black and amber, LED reading lights and rear sunblinds, Citroen’s latest sat-nav and infotainment system on board, plus some new safety kit.
Both cars get the option of a new PureTech 130 petrol engine which is claimed to emit 115g/km of CO2, and the C4 Picasso also receives a Puretech 110, which already appears elsewhere in the Citroën range.
Both engines are likely to be small sellers, though, as the majority of buyers in this market prefer diesels.
As before, drivers can choose from a six-speed manual, a semi-automatic or six-speed automatic gearbox.
Both cars come in five trim levels – VTR, VTR+, Selection, Exclusive and Exclusive+.
Entry level cars get the basics, such as alloy wheels and air conditioning, but if you can afford the next level up you benefit from sat nav and a reversing camera.
Citroën hasn’t revealed price tags for the facelifted C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso yet, but talk in the industry is that the new models will be priced from from around £19,600 and £21,800 respectively – an increase on today’s models’ £18,495 and £20,195.
The new models go on sale in September.
