Renault has announced a new, more intense version of the Clio RS hot hatch, called the KZ 01. It will be revealed at the Monaco Grand Prix on Friday.
Images of the new car leaked online, prompting Renault to release very limited details and an official picture.
It shows the new range-topping hot hatch sports new exterior details like a large rear spoiler. Other changes include more aggressively-designed wheel arches, and fog lights on the bumpers which are modelled to recreate the Renaultsport badge when switched on.
It’s also rumoured that the new car is currently just a concept but Renault is considering undertaking a limited production run of just 500 units.
The KZ 01 will reportedly use either a souped-up version of the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine used on other Renaultsport Clios or the 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit used by the Renaultsport Megane.
In either case, power is apparently up to a stonking 250bhp.
