These drawings are our first peek at the new Kia Rio, due to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month.
Not too much is known about the car but it’s expected Kia will release it as a five door only – three door models account for just 10% of the current Rio sales.
The design sketches show a car that is more aggressive and wedge-shaped than the model it will replace.
Production of the fourth generation Rio will begin in the autumn but it’s not expected to go on sale in the UK until at least the beginning of 2017.
Kia is promising “class-leading practicality and safety technology, the latest connectivity features, and more assured and engaging ride and handling characteristics.”
We’ll find out if that’s the case in a few months’ time.
