Golfing requires skill, commitment – and a car with enough room for your clubs. Here are five of the best.
Jaguar F-Pace
It’s big, smartly styled and has that all-important brand image. The F-Pace is also exceptionally good to drive, and will make the journey home from the club just as good as the game itself.
With a range of engines to choose from, the F-Pace can be tailored to your needs – there’s even a powerful supercharged V6 petrol available if you’re looking for something sportier.
A big boot is a must for golfers, and thankfully the F-Pace has just that. It’s also got a decent amount of room in the back, so if you’re giving fellow players a lift, it won’t be too much of a squeeze.
Honda NSX
OK, so a £130,000 hybrid sports car may not be the most practical of golfing cars, but the rear compartment area is just the right size for a set of clubs.
With dramatic styling, you’ll certainly stand out from the rest of the golfing crowd, and with over 500bhp on tap you’ll get home quicker than them, too.
Highlighted as a ‘usable’ sports car, the NSX won’t be a struggle to drive every day, although with just two seats you won’t be able to bring all your teammates along for the ride.
Mercedes S-Class
The S-Class is the epitome of luxury when it comes to saloon cars. With engines ranging from a 3.0-litre diesel to a 6.2-litre V8 petrol, there’s something for everyone. It’s also got an impressively usable boot – enough for two sets of clubs – meaning you won’t have to worry about getting all your equipment to the tee.
The S-Class is expensive – prices start at around £68,000 – but it’s a car that carries with it all of the prestige associated with some of the most famous golf courses in the world. If you were looking for the car equivalent of St. Andrews, you’d be hard pressed to do better than the Mercedes S-Class.
Maserati Ghibli
There’s a certain something that comes with a Maserati. The Ghibli brings practicality to the table, offering a spacious interior and a good-size boot.
The brand prestige that comes with it is second to none, Â and almost everyone will recognise the trident on the bonnet. It’s got a good amount of interior storage too, with plenty of room for tees, balls and shoes.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe
The 6 Series Gran Coupe is a sleek five-door, designed to offer the practicality of a saloon with the good looks of a coupe. Because of this, it’s got a little more room than you’d expect. You can easily fit two sets of clubs in the boot, and thanks to folding rear seats, can get one extra set in if you need to as well.
