This is the estate version of Vauxhall’s next Insignia.
Called the Insignia Sport Tourer it’ll make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month and goes on sale in the autumn.
Total boot capacity is 1,638 litres with the rear seats down – 110 litres up on the outgoing model – although the 520-litre capacity with the seats in place is no better than before.
As with the Insignia hatch, a new modular platform means the Sports Tourer is much lighter than the old model – up to 200kg has been shaved off its weight.
A choice of front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox or four-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic transmission will be offered.
Vauxhall hasn’t announced prices but expect them to start at somewhere around the £23,000 mark.
