It may be just shy of 50 years since Fife’s greatest ever racing driver lost his life in a crash at Hockenheim in Germany.
However, Jim Clark, who perished in April 1968, remains in the news.
The Jim Clark Award – given to a Scot who has contributed to motoring or motorsport – takes place this Saturday.
A Jim Clark Museum is being built in Duns, where he spent some of his childhood. Now he’s the subject of a book by fellow Scot and former Sunday Times motoring writer Eric Dymock.
Jim Clark: Tribute to a Champion is an expanded and revised version released by Dymock’s company Dove Publishing. A royalty from every sale goes to the Jim Clark Trust. They’re available from bookshops, online at www.dovepublishing.co.uk and from sales@vinehouseuk.co.uk
