Rolls-Royce has unwrapped the second generation Phantom.
The ultra-luxury saloon is the car that began the brand’s renaissance after it was acquired by BMW in 2003.
Rolls-Royce describes the new Phantom as the most technologically advanced car it has ever produced.
It’s the first to be built on an all new aluminium platform that will also underpin the company’s first ever SUV, due out in 2019.
The new Phantom is slightly shorter than its predecessor but 30% stiffer, which should improve the already heavenly ride quality. New self-levelling air suspension and four wheel steering are also present.
Under the bonnet is a new 6.75 litre W12 engine with 582bhp.
The new Phantom will go on sale next year with an anticipated price tag of around £400,000.
