Volvo has released details of its hotly anticipated V60 estate.
A rival to the BMW 3 Series Touring and Audi A4 Avant, the Swedish load lugger will start at £31,810 and PCP deals start at £299.
Three 2.0 litre engines will be offered from launch, two diesels and one petrol. The diesel models are available with six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission while the petrol comes with the auto as standard.
Two plug-in hybrids and a second petrol version are meant to join the range over the next year.
As is the case with the rest of the Volvo range the V60 boasts class-leading safety systems includes the City Safety package, which included automatic emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection, and steering support.
It also comes with Volvo’s Pilot Assist, a semi-autonomous function that controls steering, brakes and acceleration to keep the car in its lane.
Another nice piece of technology is Volvo’s On Call app which allows owners to control sat nav and heating from their phones so the car’s at the right temperature and ready to guide you to your destination as soon as you get in.
Entry models come with LED headlights, a powered tailgate, two-zone climate control with ‘CleanZone’ air-quality system, a 12.3in driver’s information display and rear parking sensors as standard.
The V60 is available to order now with first deliveries expected in July.
