Mitsubishi has slightly increased the electric-only range of its popular plug-in hybrid, the Outlander PHEV.
Battery size has increased by 10%, giving an electric-only range of 28 miles. That may not seem much but for many people it’s enough to get to work and back without having to burn a drop of petrol.
Electric-only top speed has been raised from 78mph to 84mph, where it’s legal to do such speeds.
The petrol power part is new too -– a 2.4 litre four-cylinder unit now lies under the engine.
On the style front, the refreshed car gets a redesigned grille, new bumper, fog lamp updates and all-new LED headlights. The rear has an update to the bumper extension and a large roof spoiler while new, two-tone 18-inch alloys complement the overall look.
UK pricing and specifications for the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV are yet to be announced, but will be revealed closer to the car’s launch in September.
