Mercedes has unveiled its new B-Class at the Paris Motor Show.
Referred to by the manufacturer as a ‘Sports Tourer’, the B-Class comes as a rival to BMW’s 2 Series Active Tourer.
Due to go on sale this December, the B-Class will be offered with two petrol and three diesel engines, starting with a 1.3-litre petrol and rising to a new 2.0-litre diesel.
A seven-speed gearbox will be fitted on the petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, while the larger 2.0-litre will utilise an eight-speed ‘box. Four wheel drive versions will join the range next year.
With the rear seats in place there’s up to 705 litres of boot space available, rising to 1540 litres with those seats folded flat.
First deliveries will begin in February next year.
