Relive your tough guy dreams with the Professionals’ Capri

The 1978 Ford Capri.

Childhood dreams could be about to come true for many a middle-aged motorist, with news that a Ford Capri used in the Professionals is coming up for auction next week.

The 1978 Capri 3.0S was one of several Ford loaned to the makers of the hit TV show and this very car featured in seven episodes of the second series while wearing the false number plate UOO 303T.

Driven hard by no-nonsense ex-SAS sergeant Bodie, played by Lewis Collins, the Capri was quickly lifted to iconic status.

Taken from Ford’s press fleet at the time, it is finished in Strato Silver with a gorgeous tartan plaid “fishnet’ Recaro interior.

The car was extensively restored two years ago, say auctioneers H&H Classics and it even graced the front cover of Classic Ford magazine in the summer of last year.

Damian Jones, sales manager at H&H Classics, says: “This car is a wonderful piece of entertainment memorabilia. Classic cars and film props are two of the fastest growing areas in collecting where we have seen values soar.”

The “Bodie” Capri will be sold at the Duxford Imperial War Museum on April 20. The estimated selling price is between £35,000 and £45,000.
