Nissan has expanded its ProPilot self-driving technology across the whole of the Qashqai range.
Don’t get too excited though, the technology doesn’t let you curl up in the back and go to sleep.
Instead the system works on single carriageway roads to help maintain the car’s lane position and distance from the vehicle in front. ProPilot will bring the car to a complete halt, and then resume driving again if that stop is for less than 3 seconds. It’s a system designed to assist with motorway driving as well as stop-start driving in traffic, although you still need to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel at all times.
Previously only an option on top spec models, ProPilot can now be had on any automatic Qashqai models – models with the tech start at £28,040.
