Citroen spin-off company DS has announced a fully electric version of one of its most popular compact SUVs.
The DS3 Crossback E-Tense will be powered by a 136hp electric motor, linked to a 50kWh battery that is said to be good for a 200-mile driving range on the WLTP test cycle and capable of an 80% recharge in 30 minutes from a fast charging point.
E-Tense drivers will be able to access a range of services through the MyDS mobile app, including programming or switching on battery charging, viewing the battery’s charge status and remotely setting the car’s interior temperature.
Prices will start at £32,500, including the government’s plug-in car grant. Order books open later this year with first deliveries expected in January 2020.
