Toyota has released a new limited-run version of its GT86 sports car – the Orange Edition.
The striking model kicks off the Japanese Manufacturers Club Series, which it describes as “a new stamp of quality for limited edition versions of the GT86”.
The Orange Edition gains a raft of aesthetic tweaks, as well as improved standard specification. The most obvious visual upgrade is the eye-catching Solar Orange exterior paint, which is applied to the car in three separate coats.
Other changes to the GT86’s appearance include contrasting metallic black paint on the lip of the rear spoiler and door mirrors, as well as sporty Anthracite 17-inch alloys.
The exterior isn’t the only part of the car to benefit from additional styling touches. The cabin gains standard-fit heated sports seats that are upholstered in black leather and Alcantara, while contrasting orange stitching is prevalent throughout the interior.
Also included in the Orange Edition package is Toyota’s Touch 2 multimedia system, which incorporates DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
Toyota has fitted the GT86 Orange Edition with a limited-slip differential, as well as performance brake discs and pads for extra confidence through the corners.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine remains untouched, producing 197bhp for a 0-60mph time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 140mph.
The GT86 Orange Edition is on sale now, and is priced from £28,800 for the six-speed manual. Toyota is also offering a six-speed automatic version, which is priced at £30,270.
Meanwhile, Bentley’s in-house commissioning division Mulliner has shown just how luxurious it can make a Bentayga by equipping one with a unique falconry kit.
It contains everything required for “an enjoyable falconry experience”, including refreshments cabinet and a ‘master flight station’, which is used for storing falconry equipment.
The two components are trimmed in natural cork fabric and sit on a sliding tray that can extend out of the boot. There are also two perches that can be set up to allow falconers to “prepare their bird in comfort and shade”.
In the cabin, another perch has been fitted on the central armrest, while an impressive veneer depicting a falcon flying over sand dunes also features prominently on the dashboard. This eye-catching design was created using 430 individual pieces of wood, and took nine days to craft by hand.
