BBC Scotland has secured a deal to show Scottish league highlights for the next four years.
The contract – believed to be worth about £2.7 million each season – is worth almost double the previous agreement.
Scottish Professional Football League chairman Ralph Topping had previously warned the BBC the organisation would not accept the same deal, citing the major disparity with the public broadcaster’s payments to England’s Premier League.
The deal will continue Sportscene’s Sunday night coverage as well as internet clips and live radio commentary.
Sky Sports and BT Sport have contracts to show live SPFL football until 2020.
