A man has appeared before a sheriff charged with child sex offences.
Jamae Boyd, 27, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court facing two charges.
It is alleged Boyd arranged to meet a person he believed to be a child aged under the age of 16 with the intention of engaging in unlawful sexual activity.
He faces a second charge of causing a child to look at a sexual image and indecently communicating with a child.
Boyd, of Arbroath, made no plea to the two charges on petition during a brief private hearing.
The court case was continued for further examination.
Boyd was released on bail meantime.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 27-year-old man from Arbroath has been arrested and charged with online offences.”
