Two Tayside men have appeared in court on a firearms charge following a late night disturbance outside a shopping arcade.
Police cordoned off part of an Aldi supermarket car park in Aberdeen following an incident on Tuesday night during which a man was hurt.
The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment although it is understood he did not suffer life threatening injuries.
Police said the alleged altercation took place around 9.30pm in the city’s Cornhill area.
Paul Douglas from Dundee and Jay Longmuir from Kirriemuir, both 23, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday in connection with the case.
They are both accused of having a firearm or imitation firearm in public.
Further charges allege they had possession of offensive weapons and blades.
They are also accused of having controlled drugs in their possession and being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Both of the accused made no plea and no declaration.
The pair were released on bail and the case was continued for further examination.
The date for their next court appearance has yet to be set.
