Police are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a 44-year-old man in North Ayrshire.
The incident happened at around 12.05am on Monday outside the Saracen’s Head Hotel on Eglinton Street, Beith.
The man was found injured in the street and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, but he has now been transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for a serious head injury.
Detective Inspector William McDicken, said: “Our inquiries are continuing today to trace whoever is responsible for assaulting the 44-year-old man outside the Saracen’s Head Hotel in Eglinton Street, Beith,.
“Officers are following a number of lines of inquiry and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this assault take place, or who was in the area at the time and has information that may assist our investigation, to contact police.”
