In a flashback to the 1990s, Britpop legends Oasis have reentered the UK charts.
The band’s 1996 classic Don’t Look Back In Anger has made its to number 26 in the official iTunes singles chart, all thanks to the people of Manchester.
Following Monday night’s terror attack, the song has come to symbolise the city’s defiance against the horrific bombings at the Manchester Arena which left 22 dead.
A further 64 were injured – 20 critically – in the alleged suicide bombing at the Ariana Grande concert.
The Oasis tune touched millions of people across the globe yesterday when a video of a crowd in Manchester’s St Ann’s Square singing it following a minute’s silence went viral.
The charts are currently topped by singles from Ariana Grande herself.

The song was first released on February 16, 1996 as the fourth single from classic album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
It shot straight to number one in the UK and Ireland following its release, and was the 10th biggest selling single of 1996.
It was written by the band’s chief songwriter, Noel Gallagher, and was also the first song with lead vocals by him.
His brother, Liam Gallagher, was the main singer. Oasis are among Manchester’s most famous and cherished musical exports, though the band split up in 2009. They are one of the most symbolic groups of the 1990s and the Britpop era.
