Video footage and photographs have emerged showing the smouldering ruin of a London tower block hit by a terrifying blaze overnight.
Twitter users posted videos of the fire at the 26-storey Grenfell Tower in North Kensington, which went up in flames in the early hours of this morning.
Locals spoke of spoke residents trapped and screaming for help, with some holding children from windows and others jumping from upper floors.
Videos and images have emerged online showing the scenes this morning as the fire dies down, leaving a huge plume of smoke hanging above London.

London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton said there had been a “number of fatalities” but could not say how many due to the size and complexity of the building.
She told reporters at the scene: “This is an unprecedented incident. In my 29 years of being a firefighter, I have never ever seen anything of this scale.”
