Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are inviting members of the public and interested parties to a site selection consultation regarding a proposed new substation.
SSEN require a new reactive power substation in the Tummel Bridge area, and they are now seeking public feedback on their preferred site.
This event follows a review of nine potential site locations, considering all of these sites against environmental, technical and economical factors.
The preferred site resulting from this process is located approximately 3km south of Tummel Bridge and represents a balance of all three factors.
SSEN are inviting local people and interested parties to an exhibition where they will present their site selection outcome for the proposed Kinardochy substation.
The event is part of their desire to ensure they progress with the most appropriate option. As such, they welcome the views of local people and encourage the community to have their say.
The event takes place at Kynachan Hall on Thursday 29 August, 14:00 to 19:00.
The doors will be open on a drop-in basis so you can pop in at a time that suits you to chat to Louise Anderson (Community Liaison Manager) and other members of the SSEN project team.
“As a responsible developer we want to keep the local community updated on our proposals, and we are also keen to hear their views on our plans and listen to their feedback. I’d encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about this work to come along on Thursday 29 August, and ask any questions they may have”, says Louise.
