The Great British Bake Off is officially back! That means we’ll all be suffering weekly cravings for freshly baked cakes, biscuits and bread as we watch the latest group of bakers battle their way to the final.
Luckily, you don’t have to be blessed with baking skills to rival Paul Hollywood to satisfy your cravings.
Dundee and its surrounding area is home to several great cake and coffee shops offering fresh, handmade and delicious goodies.
Here are some of the best to check out over the next few months…
Redberry, Dundee and Broughty Ferry
Redberry’s award winning dessert parlours in Dundee and Broughty Ferry (which is newly opened) carry a range of cakes and cheesecakes, as well as waffles, crepes, churros, ice creams and milkshakes.
Cakes are homemade freshly and daily by hand, using locally sourced ingredients. They currently offer two flavours of cheesecakes at a time, which change every couple of days.
Freshly made Belgian waffles can be customised with your preferred choice of toppings and the recently introduced churros are delicious, especially when smothered with Nutella Sauce!
Redberry will soon be widening their range of cakes to include a variety of sponge cakes, chocolate cakes and school-like desserts.
Treat yourself – ask the friendly staff for their recommendations to ensure you have the best RedBerry experience! It’s open Monday to Friday 1pm to 11pm, and Saturday and Sunday 12 noon to 11pm.
