A young drink-driver who claimed her car was stolen from outside her front door before it was involved in a seaside crash has been put on a six-month electronic tag and banned from driving for a year.
Leah Soave, 23, of Marine Court, Arbroath, appeared for sentence before Sheriff Gregor Murray at Forfar where she pled guilty to charges in relation to the incident on August 30.
She admitted driving with excess alcohol on King’s Drive, Arbroath, and failing to stop after colliding with roadside barriers. She had an alcohol reading of 55 microgrammes, more than double the legal limit of 22.
Soave also admitted wasting police time by claiming the vehicle had been stolen.
