Callous thieves have stolen children’s play equipment from a Forfar garden.
Police are appealing for information after a basketball net with stand was stolen from the garden at East High Street, Forfar between 3:30pm and 10:15pm on Friday, October 25.
The stand was filled with water to weight it down and the perpetrators left a trail of liquid between the garden and the street.
Police then believe the equipment was loaded onto a vehicle before being driven away.
A police spokesman said theft was “unusual” as the items had very little resale value.
He said: “ This is a tall and heavy item with a weighted base filled with water. It appears from a trail of water leading out into the street that it was loaded onto a vehicle to be taken away. It certainly would have been too bulky and heavy to carry any distance.
“This is a piece of children’s play equipment which would be worth little in the way of resale value, and would be very obviously out of place if seen.
“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer,” he added.
