A man has appeared in court following a major police incident in Arbroath town centre.
Roman Tamborsky was arrested following a near 11-hour stand-off with officers on Friday.
The 36-year-old faces four charges of threatening and abusive behaviour and one allegation of breach of the peace.
He made no plea during his brief, private appearance at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday.
Tamborsky was remanded in custody and is due to a make a follow-up appearance in court within eight days.
Police were called to the centre of Arbroath following reports of a disturbance at around 10am.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were stationed around a property near the Marketgate car park, until shortly before 9pm.
Witnesses said two men were walked out of the building by police.
Three dogs – two Staffordshire bull terriers and a bulldog – were also removed.
