Arbroath fire crews tackled a blaze in a town chip shop on Wednesday afternoon.
The alarm was raised just before 1.45pm following the outbreak in the building occupied by the busy Marina chip shop in the town’s Ladybridge Street.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the incident involved the ventilation system in the building.
Two town appliances attended the incident and remained at the scene until just after 3pm.
There were no reports of any casualties related to the incident and the interior of the shop was not badly damaged.
It remained closed on Wednesday evening.
Police diversions around the harbour and Brothock Bridge area were put in place during the operation.
