A person has been rescued from an embankment at the Gannochy Bridge near Edzell.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service control sent two fire engines and two rescue boats to the spot at the River North Esk near Edzell after a person was reported to have fallen.
The accident happened shortly before 3pm on Sunday afternoon with rescue workers giving the all clear around an hour later.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said he did not know if the person had been seriously injured in the incident.
“We assisted the ambulance service in raising the casualty,” he added.
