A shoplifter with a penchant for perfume has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
James Finan hit the same Arbroath pharmacy three times in a week last year during a spate of crimes to fund his chaotic lifestyle at the time.
The 45-year-old appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court for sentencing having previously admitted stealing perfume from Lloyds in Arbroath on April 10, 15 and 17 2019, as well as further thefts from McColl’s on April 18 and Poundland on May 16.
Defence solicitor Ian Myles said Finan was now “making good progress”. Finan was ordered to carry out 135 hours unpaid work within nine months.
