Parking bans and one-way systems are being put in place in a bid to avert Angus traffic chaos on the partial re-opening of the area’s skip sites.
The gates to recycling centres in Arbroath, Forfar, Monifieth and Montrose will be unlocked from Monday in the re-introduction of a restricted service following more than two months in lockdown.
The authority has been working on the re-opening plan for some weeks, in partnership with other bodies including Police Scotland, and a range of traffic control measures will apply in streets around the four centres.
It will include only one-way access from the east to the Forfar skip site on Queenswell Road, meaning right hand turns into the facility are banned.
In Arbroath, traffic will not be allowed to park or queue on Kirkton Road.
A one-way sytsem will also be put in place beyond the railway bridges at Monifieth.
Skip site-bound traffic will be directed along Foundry Road and Riverview Drive to the centre. Cars leaving the centre will be directed left onto to Marine Drive and then South Street.
A traffic restriction order is being put in place on part of Broomfield Road Montrose. No waiting cones will be laid on part of the street to aid the queuing arrangement for the centre.
