Forfar history has been brought to a new audience in a lockdown art project.
At what will be the first of three sites, artist Neil Paterson tackled the large stretch of wall at Queenswell Road.
It features birds which give their name to Forfar streets including Lintie Croft and Swallowcroft, with the Queen’s Well – Queen Margaret’s Well – at the centre of the artwork.
The project has been organised by the town centre improvement sub-group of Forfar Community Council, in liaison with Forfar Action Network.
Forfar councillor Lynne Devine said: “It’s so exciting to see this coming to fruition after a lot of difficulty with the weather at the beginning of the year when it was impossible for the artists to get going.
“We hope it gives lots of people a lift during these difficult times.”£
She thanked the NHS Innovation Fund for granting the money to the sub-group and Charlotte Douglas who drove this project forward.
