The Coastguard was called out in Angus earlier today after reports of a man in the water near cliffs.
The Arbroath Coastguard Rescue Team and Arbroath RNLI responded to reports of a man being near the town’s cliffs at around 3pm.
The teams have since confirmed that he has “self-recovered” from the water.
A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesperson said: “At around 3pm, HM Coastguard was alerted to report of person in the water at Arbroath cliffs and sent Arbroath RNLI inshore and all weather lifeboats and Arbroath Coastguard Rescue Team.
“Arbroath Coastguard Rescue Team confirmed that the casualty has self-recovered from the water and no further assistance was required.”
