An Angus OAP has been banned from going near a local retirement housing complex after denying a hammer incident involving two women in their 80s.
Colin McKenna is alleged to have breached the peace at Glebe Court in Kirriemuir last month by aggressively hitting a fence while peering through a window at the OAPs inside the supported and retirement housing scheme.
The 74-year-old, of Rosefield Road, Kirriemuir denies behaving in a threatening manner at the town’s Glebe Court on August 10 by repeatedly going there, peering through the window of a property and striking a fence with a hammer in an aggressive and intimidating manner while staring at the two OAPs and another woman.
Sheriff Gregor Murray imposed the special bail condition preventing him from approaching Glebe Court, despite a plea by McKenna to be allowed access to his property in order to tie back fencing and paint it.
The accused, who represented himself in court, had trial set for February next year.
