A final call has gone out from environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful for Angus groups to register to take part in the Beautiful Scotland and It’s Your Neighbourhood campaigns and help celebrate 50 years of community growing.
With entries to the initiatives set to close at the start of May, local volunteers and entire communities are being urged to come together to clean up and ‘green up’ the areas in which they live, work and play, and be recognised for their tireless efforts in improving their own villages, towns and cities.
Derek Robertson, chief executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful said: “We are delighted that more than 130 groups from across Scotland have registered to take part in these exciting community growing campaigns so far.
“More than 200 groups took part in last year’s initiative and we hope to see record breaking numbers participating in the 2016 golden anniversary celebrations.
“Year round, communities from across Angus do their bit to make sure their local spaces are clean, green and beautiful.”
