A man has been rescued from the sea off the coast of Arbroath.
Paramedics, police and the town’s RNLI were called at about 8pm following reports of a person in the water south of the harbour.
Rescuers quickly traced the man.
He is not said to have been injured but was taken to hospital to be checked over.
Police were called to the incident at 7.55pm.
A spokesman for the force said: “We were notified by the ambulance. A male was in the water. A male was traced 40m out.
“He had no injuries. Coastguard were notified but they were not required.”
The RNLI website recorded a shout-out at 8.05pm.
