Police are probing the sudden death of a man who was found in a house in Monifieth on Thursday afternoon.
Officers were called to a report of concern for a person at an address in Ashgrove at around 2.35pm.
Firefighters were also summoned to gain entry to the property and found the man dead within after breaking down the door.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said inquiries are ongoing and the death is being treated as unexplained.
Neighbours said the property and the surrounding streets have been a hive of activity throughout the afternoon, with specialist officers dressed in forensic suits seen going in and out of the house.
Police were also said to be going door-to-door, asking locals if they knew who the man was or perhaps had seen him in the last few days.
