The organisers behind the campaign to bring an athletics arena to Arbroath are calling on the public to contact them with fundraising ideas.
Vicky Graham and Cherise Whamond are hoping to raise £1m for a facility at Arbroath High School.
Cherise recently completed the London Marathon, which added £830 to the amount raised so far.
She said: “I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received.
“The fact that I was raising money for the Angus Athletics Arena helped keep me going.”
She said the group was planning new events to raise funds and awareness of our cause.
“At the moment we are planning a football match between past pupils of Arbroath Academy and Arbroath High, an athletics open day, snail race, raffles and maybe a casino evening,” added Cherise.
“If anyone has any ideas on fundraising then don’t hesitate to contact us.”
Anyone who’d like to join the campaign’s steering group, which meets every six weeks, should email angusathleticsarena@gmail.com.
