A lifeboat crew was scrambled to the aid of an historic Scottish fishing boat after it sprung a leak in Anstruther Harbour. The spectacular White Wing was berthed at the Fife port when it began taking in water just before 5pm on Friday. The East Neuk RNLI crew went to assist after helping a broken down yacht, about half-a-mile off the coast. The team was sent out just before 2.30pm and the yacht was towed back to Anstruther for repairs. A lifeboat spokesman said pumps were used to remove water from the century-old White Wing. He stressed the vessel was not at risk of sinking. The crew said they would return to the boat at about 10.30pm when the tide is out.
