A car has overturned and landed on its roof in the centre of an Angus town. Emergency services were called to High Street in Monifieth just before 10pm. The female driver, who was treated at the roadside, has been taken to hospital. Her injuries are not known. The emergency services at the scene. A fire service spokesman said: “We were called to the accident and helped to administer oxygen to a female at the scene. “The car was on its roof when we arrived,” he said. “No one had to be cut out of the vehicle. “The woman has been taken by ambulance to hospital.” The alarm was raised by a member of the public at 9.52pm. No details of the woman’s injuries have been released. One on-looker said there were two people in the car when it crashed. It may have collided with a parked vehicle, he said. The road was closed for about half an hour and re-opened at about 10.20pm.
