An Angus man has been recognised at the Trades Awards 2016 for his exceptional work across a leading housebuilder’s developments.
Shaun Davies, 20, from Arbroath was crowned Apprentice of the Year.
Apprentice bricklayer Shaun is currently based at Stewart Milne Homes’ design-led development The Plaza at Riverside Quarter in Aberdeen.
The homes and apartment blocks are being constructed using complex brickwork as the main material and demand an outstanding quality of bricklaying.
A former student of Arbroath College, where he received the Best in Class award in 2013, Shaun has excelled in his career so far.
Shaun is also a role model, inspiring a future generation by acting as a construction spokesperson at local careers events, where he encourages other young people to consider an apprenticeship.
Shaun said: “I’m really excited to have been awarded Apprentice of the Year at the Trades Awards.
“My apprenticeship has been brilliant and has given me the confidence that if I work hard, I can go far in the industry.”
