Emergency services were unable to save a deer after it became trapped in railings in Arbroath this morning.
Police called for assistance of local Scottish Fire and Rescue personnel to help cut the animal free from the railings at Guthrie Hill in the town, shortly before noon.
Sadly the young deer had to be put to sleep at the scene by a vet due to the injuries it had sustained in the incident.
