An online service which provides professional advice to people in Angus who are affected by illness or disability has been launched.
Independent Living Angus is a free facility which provides advice and guidance 24 hours a day and it is hoped will help the elderly to remain in their own home.
Occupational therapy manager Allison Taylor said: “I’m really pleased to be launching this service on behalf of the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership.
“Independent Living Angus can be used by people living in Angus who need help or by members of their family, friends or carers.
“The service will enable people to be matched to individualised solutions which can be information, professional advice, signposting and/ or practical solutions.
“People having difficulty with every day activities will likely benefit most from using the service.
“There is a wide range of solutions available to help people including bathing, showering and toileting equipment, bed and chair raisers, grab rails, banister rails as well as community alarm, smoke alarms and falls detectors.
“There are also solutions for people who have hearing and/or visual loss.”
