A road in Stonehaven remains closed today after a blaze in a nightclub.
Emergency services were called after explosions could be heard coming from Zee’s nightclub, which is adjoined with Trouper’s bar in the town’s Barclay Street.
The incident happened around 11.15pm on Sunday.
Five fire crews, two from Stonehaven, one from Inverbervie, one from Laurencekirk and one from Aberdeen, were called to tackle the blaze which was brought under control by 12.30am.
Barclay Street is closed to vehicles in both directions today while an investigation is carried out.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the club was closed at the time of the fire.
She said: “Initially the callers were phoning to say there had been an explosion and the building was heavily smoked.
“Luckily nobody was in the building.
“We had five appliances, a height vehicle and an incident support van at the scene.”
