Broughty Ferry lifeboat was launched on Wednesday afternoon after a yacht got into trouble off the coast of Carnoustie.
The 24-foot yacht, which was having trouble with masts, made the distress call around 2.30pm at Fairway Buoy.
The all-weather Elizabeth of Glamis lifeboat attended the incident.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: “The boat had lost its mast and was helped back to port at the Royal Tay Yacht Club by Broughty Ferry Lifeboat.”
