Coastguard and Tayside Mountain Rescue teams were deployed to trace a missing walker in the Angus glens in the early hours of Friday morning.
The man’s walking companion raised the alarm at half past midnight after the pair became separated.
The hill walker was traced safe and well by the Coastguard helicopter at around 3am.
A police spokesman said: “They managed to get separated when they were walking in Corrie Fee. One raised the alarm and the other was traced safe and well.
“He had wandered off in the area ever so slightly and they didn’t come down the same way.
“It looks like they were going up Driesh. If you’re not careful up the top of Driesh then you can go down into Glen Prosen instead of down into Glen Doll. It looks like what he’s done.”
