Canadian rock legend Bryan Adams can’t wait to perform in Montrose on Sunday.
The final preparations are taking place to transform the town’s East Links into an outdoor music venue for the 56-year-old’s only outdoor show in Scotland as part of his Get Up Tour.
Adams said: “I’m really enjoying my tour and am looking forward to heading up to Montrose for my only Scottish outdoor show.
“People can expect two hours of music, and the crowds in Scotland are fantastic.
“It’s going to be great!”
The show is being organised in partnership between concert promoter, LCC Live and the Montrose Music Festival and is the headline act of this year’s MoFest.
Tickets have sold “exceptionally well” and Claire Kidger of LCC Live said “anticipation and excitement” have been building from the moment the show was announced.
She said: “With just days to go until the show, we have a full team on site transforming the East Links into an outdoor music arena.
“The response we’ve had from music fans from across Scotland has been phenomenal and we’re delighted with ticket sales.
“For those who have a ticket, it’s going to be an amazing night, but for those who haven’t yet got a ticket, you’d best be quick as tickets are selling fast.
“Personally, I’m extremely excited to be bringing Bryan Adams to Montrose.
“He’s amazing live and always puts on a great show!”
Adams rose to fame in North America with his album Cuts Like a Knife and turned into a global star with his 1984 album Reckless.
(Everything I Do) I Do It For You spent 16 consecutive weeks at No 1 on the UK singles chart in 1991, breaking a record previously held by Slim Whitman with Rose Marie in 1955.
Adams released Get Up in October which was produced by ELO frontman Jeff Lynne and features nine new songs and four acoustic versions.
David Paton, Chairman of the Montrose Music Festival, said: “There’s a real sense of excitement building around Montrose and within the local community as fans from across Scotland get ready to welcome Bryan Adams for his only Scottish outdoor show this year.
“What a great finale to a very successful ninth Montrose Music Festival.”
Adams is the latest name in a lengthening line-up of famous musicians that have been signed up to play the festival following previous appearances from Ash, Status Quo, Madness and Jools Holland.
Gates for the show open at 6pm and Bryan Adams will take to the stage around 8pm and there is no support act.
Guests are also reminded that there is a pending rail strike for Sunday and to check revised timetables, or consider alternative travel arrangements.
The show organisers have teamed up with Happy Bus, which is running buses locally to Arbroath, Dundee, Forfar as well as to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Falkirk.
