Local worker Scotty Lawson spotted the police in the area late on Saturday.

He said: “It was around 9pm, I went out for a smoke and multiple police vehicles were in Cross Keys car park, around Cross Keys close.

“The police weren’t looking for anyone as they weren’t searching or asking questions, it was like they were waiting.

“Sure enough, four police cars pull up later at around 11:15-11:30pm on the High Street and out came these guys dressed in black.

“They all moved into the Cross Keys close area. The men in black left after around 20 minutes.

“They left a police vehicle and van behind in Cross Keys car park.”

Police confirmed that they are following a positive line of enquiry.
