A Stagecoach bus has been left damaged after a four-vehicle crash on an Angus road.
The incident happened on the A932 near Guthrie – between Friockheim and Forfar – just before 4pm.
No one was seriously injured in the collision, which is understood to have happened while a car was waiting to turn off the main road, but the windscreen of the bus was cracked.
Bus driver suffering back pain after crash
A Stagecoach East Scotland spokesman said: “Thankfully, there are no reported injuries to any passengers on the bus, although our driver is suffering from some back pain.
“We are helping efforts to establish the circumstances of the accident.”
One passer-by who was in the area at the time says three vehicles were damaged in the crash.
He said: “There were only about three passengers on the bus service as it was travelling on the main Friockheim to Forfar road, near the turn-off to Guthrie.
“Police at the scene were directing traffic around it and taking statements from those involved shortly after 4pm.
“Three of the vehicles that I saw – the bus, a van and Corsa – were all badly damaged.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We were made aware of a crash involving four vehicles on the A932 near Guthrie shortly after 3.45pm on Friday.
“Nobody required hospital treatment and recovery was arranged for the vehicle.”
Several incidents on Tayside and Fife roads
The incident was one of a number on roads in Tayside and Fife on Friday, as wet weather conditions hit the region.
The A9 near Dalnaspidal was closed for several hours after a crash that caused lengthy tailbacks in the area, while another crash was reported near Bankfoot.
A car also spun off the A92 in Fife with police warning drivers about surface water.
A woman later had to be rescued after her vehicle got stuck in floodwater in East Wemyss.
